Gamesforum.com has now been an active website (not just a domain) for three months:

http://www.gamesforum.com

- The site has been running since August 26th, so a little over three months.

- It's averaging around 10-15 new registrations per day, but as with all new forums it's currently still difficult getting members to contribute. Can be quite frustrating! Someone with experience of getting forums going could do well with this though I am sure.

- There is an arcade with 976 games installed, free to play for all members.

- Each month there are prizes awarded to the most active members (have given away a Sony PSP and a Nintendo DS so far, at cost averaging $120 a month so far.

- The arcade also has a tournaments hack installed, so I will be introducing prizes for games tournament winners. (probably a game for a system of their choice, at cost of $50 or less, per month)

- The site is currently getting around 1000 daily visitors

- It is ranked #1 on msn.com for "games forum" which is not bad to say the least :)

- Current earnings are zero, since I have not yet looked into monetising it. It's very much a pet project for me. I wanted to be able to put the "built an active forum from scratch" feather in the cap. I guess with PPC it could instantly make at least $5 a day or so right now. Potential is an overused word, but naturally this domain/website has enormous potential to become massive in the right hands, I would think.

So, how much do you think it's currently worth, and who do you see as a potential buyer? All opinions appreciated.

Many thanks!
James

The domain name is very good, one of the best for a game forum of course... The traffic is very good as well... I would say, don't sell under high $ x,xxx. Maybe it worths even more.

The price is a difficult one to judge,i would bang it on ebay and let the market dictate its price with a 1k reserve or even no reserve to stimulate interest.

Good Luck !

Very good domain name - I was bidding for it when it dropped, but it went for a little more than I wanted to pay.

Forums are hard, and game forums that don't focus on specific types of games (strategy, World of Warcraft, RPG's, etc) are harder to get members for.

I would value it at mid $X,XXX, but like you said, with potential to go much higher if the forums get more popular.
