This seemed like the best forum to post this in - apologies if it's not.

I registered a domain a few days ago and put up a site - it's getting (in my relative naive opinion) a lot of traffic and I wanted to see how much it's worth on the off chance I decide to sell.

Since I opened it 3 days ago on June 1st, it's gotten around 48,000 page impressions and 600 clicks according to my Adsense account. Traffic seems to be increasing and given the nature of the site, I expect it to go up rapidly. A Google search for the domain went from 0 to 125,000 hits in the same period.

I'm making around $60 a day on Adsense - although given the number of visitors, that seems a bit low to me - all I have on the site is a set of Adsense links. I expect someone who knows what they're doing could make more.

Any thoughts on what it's worth? or where I could find out?

Most people will pay around 8 months for this sort of domain..if the traffic is steady. Give it another 2 weeks before you attempt to sell it, the traffic could die and the transaction will follow.

Thanks Rockefella - that sounds sensible. My guess is it'll go up but then I'm new to this ;)

Must be great to reg a name and receive that many hits in that short of time.

I've been trying to do that for years and still no success. :)

Can you elaborate on what field the domain is in?

It's related to a new piece of technology that came out recently - I was quick (lucky) enough to choose a good name and it made it to lots of the large tech dailies. There is a lot of fresh content that other people submit and that content is growing rapidly so I expect the numbers to rise. Who knows though eh - traffic seems a bit mysterious to me - I have a very technically focussed, open source software library on a site an it gets hundreds of visitors a day and I haven't updated it for months.. God knows what they're doing there :)

I feel a little foolish keeping it's identity to myself but that feels like the right thing to do until I decide what to do with it.
