www.caverta.info

Caverta is a generic version of sildenafil citrate (the active ingredient in Viagra)...

Overture 2209 for January 2004 (w/o extension)

89,000 results on Google.

All surrounding TLDs take as well as a few dozen variants.

Any ideas on $ value? Resell or develop?

Thanks in advance.

Bump? No one? Viagra or erectile dysfunction are no longer big business? :)

Thanks,

Rob

Well, I'm no authority, but I believe the generic name for sildenafil citrate is "sildenafil citrate." "Caverta" appears to be a proprietary name for sildenafil citrate, owned by:

Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited
12th Floor
Devika Towers
6, Nehru Place
New Delhi 110019

See:

So, if "Caverta" isn't a generic term for sildenafil citrate, isn't it likely to be a trademark?

Thank you very much for taking the time to appraise, Ovicide.

You are absolutely correct, I somewhat poorly described the name. Caverta is indeed a clone of Viagra, manufactured by Ranbaxy which is an Indian company.

I just did a trademark search at the USPTO site, and there were no results, so I presume that there is no US trademark protection - I'm certainly not a specialist in that field, so caveat emptor.

My feeling is that this Indian company (Ranbaxy) is being relatively quiet about this product since Pfizer still has a patent on Viagra... for now!

Thanks again,

Rob
