Getting listed

Could someone give me a site for getting listed. Either a info page or free service. I thought I was yahoo listed because I was in DMOZ, but it turns out that I'm not. My first site managed to get listed everywhere and 245 links doing little of nothing. Now they I called myself trying I'm having little luck. I have managed to get alexa listed as well, but no links. The other site did get links, but not really good ones.

If you know a site or have advice it really would help. TIA.

also - alexa uses google - it is not a search engine in itself - so if your in google your in alexa
