I am considering some investment to begin getting serious about snapping domains at drop time. It would seem that someone with technical knowledge would be best off trying to "do it themselves" rather than trust the likes of SnapNames, NameWinner, Club Drop, et al.

What would be the ideal software/service configuration? An example would be a configuration with one or more dedicated servers (with good bandwidth), an expiry subscription (e.g., Exody), an eNom reseller account, and a server script (e.g., DropScript).

Does anyone have any suggestions for their ideal configuration? Nothing of the caliber to compete head-on with well established snap services, of course, just enough to come up with 5-10 snapped domains consistently every day.

Thanks in advance!

Sam,

I am not sure if anyone on this forum has reached that level to be able to answer your question.

And anyone who has is CERTAINLY not going to answer!

Q: "How do you make the goose that lays the golden eggs?"
A: "Well, you..."

Sorry, but it's just not realistic to expect anyone who knows enough to help you to help you. Not when they could be using the system themselves to scoop up names worth 4 to 6 figures for themselves...

maybe someone with the knowledge but not the resources would be willing to partner up with you.

is it wise to invest in a system like this before knowing how the wls will turn out?

wouldnt u need a private connection to compete?

You would make a packet. That is certainly a task for genius comp programer. Would take ages to write, but could reep huge rewards.

The resources I have described are minimal -- a $350 software package that makes lofty claims, a dedicated server ($69 a month at Catalog.com) and an eNom account (already have).

So what I wonder is, has anyone had success with this method? Does anyone know of a script (besides dropscript.com) that may be successful at this, and share some of their experience.

Obviously no one making 6 figures is going to share their secrets, Edwin, but maybe someone making a little money would be willing to share what they know in the interest of community. Who knows, maybe we will all learn something.
