I detest 3rd level domains (aka, subdomains). Value is minimal. Developed, it might acquire value.

hey I have seen stranger things happen... but replace the .co.uk... hmm unlikely.

nice name though.. but as it is... you cant expect many typeins if any at all.. so its gonna have to be developed.

£14.95 is my Appraisal as it stands

well, the uk market does seem indeed to accept uk.com rather well...
hard to place a $ value on it, and I know people do look down on these.
the reality in the UK, and in europe (for now) is different than that of other countries.
I like it.

I like it too.
To domainers, it's sort of odd and will take many years before this extension really has any 'worth' in our eyes. Hence, so many prime keywords are still up for grabs at reg fee. But to an end user, this domain can surely have a business based around it.
I can see the busbenches now.
Meet local girls @ Girls.uk.com
But you better be quick with Guys.uk.com to finish the set.
It's still available and almost a must to seal the investment.

I would say maximum $20 for an end user, possibly as high as $40 for really foolish end user but there is probably a prospect that you could find a bigger mug than even that. Anyone who is going to be using this domain cannot possibly be a serious developer. Any serious webmaster knows that in promoting this domain they will be losing traffic to both Girls.com and Girls.co.uk - a thought that, for me at least, would be doubly horrible.

No harm in developing it, you could be sitting on a mountain of gold.

A forum, give away free blogs with subdomains,
a section for dating, news relating to women,
build it up as a general portal geared towards girls.

Dont give false hope here..... I have to be totally frank. There is no gold in this domain name. Heres an analogy for you:

Sitting at a reservoir, panning for gold with a pan that has HUGE holes in it and the gold that you collect falls back out into the reservoir for someone else to collect. This kind of domain will bleed visitors. Traffic will be lost at a huge rate.

Domainers hate them but that's not the target market. There's some big UK companies that use these subdomains, and most surfers wouldn't know the difference between a .co.uk and a .uk.com

Due to the abundance of good keywords available on .uk.com it's still not going to make you a forune though. A low $xxx should be achievable.

I disagree with the above, uk.com is pretty much usless in a market (even to the end user) .co.uk as been the defacto standard ever since I can remember the interweb.

Would loose countless traffic to .co.uk and .com, not sure that this uk.com TLD will ever have any potential type in potential like .co.uk currently has, don't think search engines would begrudge the keyword+tld though.

As it stands I can't see how it can be apraised higher than reg fee when there are simlar/better domains already available for reg.
