Godaddy auction tax

I recently bought an domain of godaddy auction for 1xx dollars and was charged an extra 30 dollars as tax is this normal or a billing error on their end? Since thats like 1/6 of the price i paid for the domain and doesnt seem right to me.

Wondered if you guys have had such issues before

If the total selling price of the domain was $150 at auction and you were charged $30, I would assume that you being in London, are being charged 20% VAT (Value Added Tax) on your purchase.

In addition, regardless of the selected currency, you acknowledge and agree that you may be charged Value Added Tax ("VAT"), Goods and Services Tax ("GST"), or other localized fees and/or taxes, based on your bank and/or the country indicated in your billing address section.
