Hello. Has the Go Daddy Backordering worked for anyone?

I purchased 6 backorders, and have tried to get over 200 names and it ALWAYS fails! Has anyone captured a name with this service?

I have only tried once, and didnt get the domain that i wanted. I won't use them again because I don't like the idea of paying before getting the domain, and then usually not getting it.

Other backorder companies have deals with registry companies (like SnapNames.com gets Register.com domains first)

I got one about 1.5 years ago (jcn18.com). But I haven't caught one since. Interesting though...godaddy used to have a 1 year time limit on their backorders (with as many changes as you want) but now it doesn't seemt to expire.

I was not able to catch any domains with GoDaddy program. Because of server-side bug, I was not able to add the domain name I wanted to catch and after GoDaddy Support fixed it, the domain name was already registered by another person. According to their T&C, they did not issue the refund.

I do not want to judge, but I would not recommend them based on my experience.

I've gotten a few on godaddy. You need to pay upfront but if you dont get the name you can re use the credit on another.

If I really want a name I will backorder all over the place. That seems to work best... Also, if it is reg at godaddy it works best.

I've gotten about 22 domains with them that bring me in about $4-$5 per day total in ppc. Not very good as far a ppc goes per domain but considering that I paid $416.90 for them and they will gross me $1460 to $1825 I am still way ahead.

Also you can't go for premium names, you'll never catch something that everybody elso is trying to get.

simply not true........I have gotten several good drops from GoDaddy's backorder service, you just have to keep trying, persistence pays off.

That's right! You're almost cetainly not going to get the best (or even most fair names for that matter) .COM and .NET names. They are very good with .US and .BIZ and fair for .INFO and .ORG. If you do get something there, it will cost you $18.95 or just $7.95 if you subscribe to Investors Edge ($29.95/mo.). I recently got 'RadioBlog.ORG' and 'AmateurRadio.ORG' for $7.95 each. How much would these names have cost me at Pool??
