The low end 18.95 price tag is the real carrot to why GD IMO is still in the game. I have gotten a few scattered names, that my crap .com portfolio can vouch for. Their backorders for high calibre domains from my end fail constantly. They're akin to a 5 year old unused condom that's baking on the dashboard of a VW Beetle...... simply useless.......my apologies for the mental picture.....especially if you've just eaten.

1 pt is just above $1USD since they charge $3 per 100 points for each refill.

Pay by check. Then you get $100 credit for $100.

1 point = 1 USD

1 point is 1 us dollar period. You pay them 3 points/dollars for the privilage of refilling your account via paypal/credit card. It's their way of illegally recouping the cc fees from resellers + a little extra for good measure.

other registrars dont charge cc fees.
So, assuming you use a cc, and most of us do, mathematically, and practically, 1 pt is a little above $1

P.S.

to further clarify.
They charge $3 for every $100, not a flat $3, so your $100 is buying you 97 points.
simple math :-)

If you were right, I am sure we would agree with you. Your $100 is buying you 100 points. They charge you 3 points leaving you 97. Ok glad we got to the bottom of that hot topic, no further disscussion is wanted or needed on it. Now get back on topic, which is godady backorders.    d:-) :clown: :smartass:  :emba: :santa: :-) :dead:  :cheeky: (bah)

is 'we' you?
looking at the thread, the majority is agreeing that 1 point is above $1 unless paying by check.
also, simple math agrees with me
Now, we can get back on topic.

:clown: If I have 21 points in my account and my .us pricing is $10.50 per year I can by 1 .us domain for 2 years or...wait for it... I can buy, 2 .us domains for 1 year. In either case I will have no points left in my account :'( That must be that "new" math everyone is talking about :ok:
