GoDaddy Insiders Self-Dealing Once More, This Time Through The TDNAM.com Site?

Have been watching and waiting for two domain names--the .com and the .net--to be listed for auction on the tdnam site. They are both way past due to be listed, they both show "No match for 'xxxxxxx.com' in the registrar database," and they are both backordered by someone else!? I don't mind the fact that someone else has backordered them before me but if this same person is an employee of GoDaddy--or an "outside" partner of an employee--and, therefore, well aware of which domains are going to drop well before the public has any chance to figure it out, and he or she is somehow able to thwart the listing at tdnam.com of any domains that they have backordered, then methinks an investigation is certainly warranted.

After all, it was only a few years ago that a GoDaddy employee, fairly high up the ladder, emailed me his list of over 3,500 domains that he had for sale!?

it's a heavy accusation without actual proof.
However, I would not be surprised if this type of thing goes on in more than one registrar...
and that doesnt mean it is official policy, but an employee working inside, with the right resources and will, can definately do it.
I know for a fact that at namecheap (which is an Enom reseller, so not directly) there are 2 domains that have been 'pending delete' status for over 2 weeks.
that is pending delete, no hold, nothing.
how can this be done... I have no idea.
and its the same domain with 2 different extensions.

As domains become more valueable, you will see more of this. People do strange things for money.

There is no one to regulate what insiders do. I too have noticed some pretty suspect activities going on but can only be pure hyperbole when you have no visibility to the inside.

The only solution is to be an insider yourself. Or to suffiiciently motivate those involved to part with their insider advantaged fruits - that dealing outside, is much more profitable, than speculative shenanigans inside.

it's hard to tell what goes on behind the scenes.. but, do any of you have any solid proof... show some examples -- otherwise this thread is a waste of time and pretty much pointless if you think about it.

icann will never intervene as the are an org and to much money exchanges hands,Verisign will likely never intervene aswell for the same reason.

I've been in the drop business for some time now,There is no way to submit concrete evidence as the snaps cover thier tracks well,But i will say,On some days i will run 60K+ expired names and 3/4 have been reged at the point of drop,Then the bad names will be re-dropped shortly after,I know the three primary companies that are doing this,But no way can i name them,They arent breaking verisign-icann regulations,But what goes on just before the drops take place is proly the most interesting.

you will never know... but most likely they will monitor closely for high value domains...
such as if a certain domain has high initial bid by domainers and has many bidders. There is a possibility that the snap-catchers themselves also take part in the auction and of cause they can easily win the bid if they want since they easily know what is the highest bid.

Fellows, I have an interesting update: The .net of the two domains that I am after is now listed for auction on the tdnam.com site!
Now here's where I can almost offer proof of my assertions: The .net has an expiration date of August 22nd; the .com has an expiration date of August 16th and it is still NOT listed for auction!?!

It's getting to be a pretty common event. As was forewarned, registrars are now cherry picking names for themselves. They apply different grace periods to names expiring on the same dates, or will push a name to "mock" redemption and leave a name of less value but with an earlier expiration date as indicated in the above post by Wm. M. It's diss-grace-full :emba:

It's now the registrars vs. the registrants. In comments recently, Parsons (Godadddy chief) pointed out that the registrars are the registries clients, NOT the registrants (read you or I). Now why do you think that he needed to point that out? Wouldn't you think that the registrars and the domainers (us) would share the same indentity of interest?

Just got this bit of "reassurance" from some "pup" at GoDaddy:

"In regards to the Domain Auction, all domains that expire through us go to the Domain Auction."

And the Titanic was declared to be unsinkable! Same hubris!

Latest Update: GoDaddy has an "Adult" filter built-in to their system and if you don't go into your My Account->My Settings->Preferences and make the change, you will only be able to view the small handful of adult domains that have slipped through the filtering system!!

GD is the most hypocritical registrar; they filter "adult" names & take over the DNS of domains whose words they object to and yet they were sure as heck glad to show off "tits and ass" in that Superbowl commercial.
