Also had four sales in the past 2 weeks, total upper $xxxx after a very quiet period.

Not these sales but previously had $xxxx transfers direct to my personal bank account, two from China and one from India. Must be my honest face :)

Very nice work John, any tips on how you find these buyers every month for the domains you sell, do you send out emails or cold call people you find that may suit the domains you are trying to sell... some tips for us all here would be nice :)

I have a magic oil that I rub on these names and they come to me from the smell. I do not send email or making cold calls. The processes are organic.

That's the trend with forums over the past several years. During earlier days of forums sharing was much more common. Years ago, most all of today's heavy hitter domainers also participated and shared. Today much is held back and to make things worse, the overwhelming majority of big players no longer post at all, post rarely, or use their own blogs where they spend much of their time.

Also, today there are many domainers who basically only use the public forums to post for sale threads and they don't make informative posts. A number of domainers post 100% sales threads and never anything else which is unfortunate and is why the forums are dominated with sales threads.

To make that situation even worse, they are at least 95% worthless or semi-worthless names which will be impossible to sell no matter how hard they try, and most all will eventually drop. As a side note, the name forums.com was sold for a ton of money with amazing timing and before the major declines.

there is still lots of informative stuff out there but what do you want? i get emails every day from people wanting to buy domains. what did i do to make them email? nothing beyond purchasing domains that obviously someone has an interest in.

There is no secret. I created several threads in the past to tell people how I do it.
I am still learning and you learn as you go. There is no way I can sum it up in one thread what I have learned in the past 10 years. Everyone can do the same thing. Just have to take one step back and do some researches and reading.
There are hundred ways to make money in this business and it's all up to what you can and want to do.

Haven't you heard of the magic rub? When someone wins money or is otherwise lucky, you just touch them and it rubs off on you. I had a funny incident years ago where I was standing at a cash till when a woman launched herself at another woman, saying she'd heard she had won something in the lottery and wanted the magic rub. The trouble was, she crashed into me instead and shoved me into the supposed lottery winner. I must have got the rub, because I won a small prize on the ticket I'd just bought, LOL.

Seriously, though, all you have to do with run your cursor slowly over John's message about his sales and, hey presto, you will sell something very soon. :)

Don't think he wanted you to write an ebook about it but just a short post saying how you sold those 3 names Johnn, instead of the odd answer you gave that it was an organic process (BTW, I have no idea what that means).

I sold most of my names from parking pages (namedrive & fabulous).

- The first thing you do right after you bought the name is to change the DNS and park them and make sure to turn the for sale on (This is very important)
- Once you made a sale save the email address to an email list
- Send your portfolio to the email list once a month
- Most of them only buy once so offer incentive (referral 10%) if they refer new client to you.
- For business client - send a gift to the person who represents the company for the transaction AFTER the deal is done.

I have a large email/contact list that I save in the past 10 years and it works very good.
When I said organic (vs. chemical) I mean I do not spam or solicit sale without them contact me first,
Once they contact you for the potential, the negotiation is another process.

Also there are time people contacts me via the who is info (and the way Godaddy hides them now is not good).
