Got a nasty email from someone through one of my parked domains, have the IP address

So I have an IP, how the heck do I trace it back to the sender? I wish to contact them to clarify that they were on a parked page and not because of a virus, the visitor sent a rather nasty threatening message because they were on a parked page and I just want to clear things up. They used a fake email but it gave me the IP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can't seem to do much more than a basic IP search because I am a domainer and don't normally mess with this crap lol

Chris, don't even bother with these morons. There are several such cases of imbeciles or drunks who can't comprehend they are on a parked page and click on the Contact link, talking about how their CC wasn't accepted, making threats etc. The jungle out there don't know what a domain name is, let alone a parked page with sponsored links.

TRACERT will give you their general location and ISP (if their ISP is large enough). It won't tell you exactly who it i (and it would take a court order for the ISP to tell you who it is) but it'll narrow it down.

Problem is to many wireless which using dynamic ip's so it would be impossible to track anybody unless it goes through a court order,cant you reply back to the email and just tell them you will break their legs,i cant ****ing stand keyboard warriors myself,maybe because i am used to a good old street tear up like yourself ;-)

You are not going to be able to trace it yourself. IP addresses will only trace it to a specific location, but unless there is a crime only a service provider will be able to narrow it down.

I love the emails from contact us here from parked pages that say " I sent my gold 3 weeks ago and havent heard back " , thinking I am the one who's ad they followed. Its sad, scarey and tempting lol

Indeed, that's the case with a lot of these bozos that land on PPC ads and end up somewhere else, placing orders, then coming back to the parked page (that has a link to contact e.g. for a sale). I had at least 4 such incidents, all were Parked.com pages where my contact email is linked.

I happened to me. A lady bought virus software from my parked site and keep sending email to me asking for a refund.
She would not listen to what I said and keep threaten to sue me. I can't stand it anymore so i finally replied to her "Go ahead and screw me!" (After 15 emails).
