Greatdomains.com sucks?

I'd say that moredomains.com should sell for around $150-$250 to a reseller. I'm actually surprised that Greatdomains allowed it into the auction, even at no reserve.

I've lost thousands of dollars on no reserve auctions in the past, so get over it and stop blaming others.

Someone offered me $5000 but i rejected him because there are already alot of offers in the four figures. And guess what, the person who offered $5k is the person who bought cookinggames.com for $350,000. So domains that u think of no value and no buyer doesn't mean it doesnt. Think before you talk.
And how are are we supposed to know about those private offers ?
The next logical move would be to get back to that person and ask if he's still interested.

I'll tell you right now, Naruto: you're an idiot. When you pay $x,xxx for a domain and send it to auction with no reserve, you get what you deserve.

I respect you as a senior member here, and I notice your trading rating are extremely high in here.
That mean you are a highly reputable person in the business.
You might be right but you shouldn't say this when people desperately seek help.
No offence, it’s just my opinion.

There's a difference between truthful despair and arrogant piss-head attitude :) When you point the finger, four fingers point back at you. Can't blame others for your own mistakes etc. etc.

I feel like I ran out of cliches for the night.

Gosh im not blaming the market or the economy. Im blaming the greatdomains alone for being so money minded and selfish and not taking care of sellers interest. They just care about their commision and don't allow seller to set a logical reserve price. Do u get it?

Well, that is myopic at best. Let's understand reality?

Great Domains is in a single business. It has a business model of being a middleman for domain sellers and buyers and making profit on the fees charged both parties. It is actually the same as all auction houses. I go to auctions for all kinds of things from antiques, equipment, cars and it is the same. If they are not money minded they will go out of business. If they are not self serving then they go out of business.

They can, and will, set up rules; like not allowing you to put any reserve on any auction item. That is their perogative to ask such things. It is also your perogative to affirm or deny, to enter into the agreement or not.

It all comes down to you. You, not great domains, are to blame because you accepted, YOU ACCEPTED, their terms.

It is hard to accept responsibility for losses but clearly it is on you. You should not have accepted the terms if you did not want to.

Surely this episode is painful, but a lesson learned is sometimes all you can get from it. Be strong and learn. Also, READ THE CONTRACT and understand what is in it before you agree. Do not take anything outside that written contract, words, emails or otherwise, as included into that contract - that is a trick they use too. Once signed, you agree to the term of the contract and off you go.

Remember, they, as all of them, are in business to make money. They are not there to make you feel good.

Best of luck on future endeavours.

Rick
