Hi guys,

I have had inquiry RE softphone.io, asking for pricing.

I wondered if you guys could possibly give me your insights?

Searches: 22,095
CPC: $9.96

com, net, org, co, cloud are all taken.

I'm not finding much in the way of comps though.

Thx in advance.

Two word .io not commonly used.. I would probably keep it below 1K.

But again if you had multiple inquiries it cant hurt to start at 5K and hear what the responses are.

A softphone is a software program for making telephone calls over the Internet using a general purpose computer, rather than using dedicated hardware.
Wikipedia

Example is ringcentral.com who provide my 800 number service for 800-266-2728, but i dont use their softphone.

Sure I know what a softphone is.. But I only encountered the term IP phone or voip in actual use in my professional life.

Could be good for the right buyer though.

Just a my thought... When "not finding much in the way of comps"

Searches + CPC @ 12 months = $2,640,794 ( $2.6m )

Say I wanted 10% valve, then asking price for softphone.io will be $264,079.40 ( $264K), because it's a dot io I lower it by another 10% .. so now my asking price will be around $26k.

FYI - google this term " site:.io softphone " This will show google results of just .io websites using keyword "softphone"

Great tip regarding site:. I would however think that asking 26K for it would be prohibitive for a sale. There have only been 4x recorded .io sales above 25K and they were all one words. I would still lower it by around a factor of 10 from or start at the 5K and see where it got you.

26K might happen. But probably not this century.

Firstly I would invite an offer and see if it's even worth continuing. For a sale with no earnings and metrics and no comparisons I think of it as a Venn diagram with Buyers Expectation and Sellers Expectation. Where they intersect is your common selling ground. Often they don't but getting an idea of their figure (remember *they* contacted you) will tell you if they're even on the paper let alone in the diagram :p If it was mine personally I'd probably be looking at minimum 1k (below that I would walk away). However I think it's down to the buyer to let you know what *they* think it's worth.
