I don't know Mike perosnally but (having read much of what he's written about his domains) I know he doesn't sell any domains unless the offer is well into the six figures.

In fact on his blog I believe he openly states he's turned down a $1.1 million offer before. I think he probably valued Haven.com a bit lower than that but since it was his personal domain I doubt he let it go for "free" either.

My best guess would be that it went for someting in the $250,000-$350,000 range. Simply speculation though - just for fun. Congrats to him and the company who purchased it.

take the time to go the site or check the whois.
if you're from the UK, it is obvious who would want it, huge holiday firm.
It goes there already:

whatever thay paid they will get back in a short time.
still be nice to know the sale figure.
surprised they didnt try and reverse hijack him, its what greedy corporates seem to do these days, even on generics

What an odd question. If a medium-sized company has a spare $10 million, why not spend $300k establishing their brand on the net?

I can also think of a large industry based around the generic term 'haven' also.

Living in Canada I had never heard of Haven. I suppose I should of done some quick research before saying such a thing but if the domain was for sale here it would of been lucky to get 30k probably.
