HELP! Who Do You Trust For Domain Valuations?

Which appraisers do you trust?

Appreciate input. Guy gal (who knows) wants to sell Estibot domain valued at $11,000 for $3700.

Is there a kinda rule-of-thumb that one can go by. That one pays. Like with jewelry. 1/3 of retail etc.

Sometimes you get emails containing the best appraisal services. If they match the required budget of the prospect, they will pay for them!

In reality, none. The valuation is in the eye of the beholder, those who've specifically sold in that niche/been around and what someone is willing to pay for it. Some go on gut. I've never heard a 1/3rd rule of thumb with Estibot, that's ridiculous.

I say estibot...because it is the one valuation I hear. Though
a G search brings up many.

May I ask your opinion re the offer. What to do? How to know?

I would suggest spending some time at dnjournal.com and reviewing what premium domains have actually sold for recently. Find some domains of comparable quality, and draw your valuation conclusions from that. I can't think of a better reality check.

Estibot may have its place, but not in important decisions like this.

Estibot is not very accurate.

I find that the most reliable way to determine value is to try and find recent comparable sales. To do this, search DNSalesPrice.com and NameBio.com.

Stop using estibot, price your domain to the level that you wont regret selling.

I think they mess up the order...

They like to buy low, then get high, then try to sell.

It works much better if you skip the middle step.

People are contradict to themselves when they know the answer when they ask the question but they tend to ignore it.
