So next time someone tries to sell a domain with potential tm concerns for $20 are you going to squeal? Is the price the deciding factor here or what?

Sales threads are meant to be kept clean from garbage such as this. Unless it's a stolen domain, keep your concerns for a PM. Educated buyers do their own homework.

There are a number of URDP decisions where the panelist(s) have regarded acronyms generic in nature.

First, assuming there is nothing wrong with the domain name, any publicity is good publicity – and many sellers seem to be overreacting and changing their sales plans just because of spurious comments - which are free bumps.

There are always trademark concerns with every domain name – it’s just a matter of the level of concern. Even Phillip Morris with their million dollar lawyers ended up being sued for trademark infringement.

HHH is not a “famous trademark” such as NBC, CBS or GE, but anyone thinking of spending serious money or naming a business will go to the USPTO.gov and search trademarks at the very least, so the negative comment really adds no information.

A seller could also reassure buyers by saying “No trademark owner has sued me for XXXX.com” or “I was sued and I won.”
