Wondering if you can help or have advice for me. Sold a domain yesterday and was paid by PayPal. I pushed it to their GD account and as soon as I did, they cancelled the PayPal. GD isnt much help, just says to file a complaint with Icann.

Ideas? Help!

Should of accepted the paypal payment first and then they cant cancel it ?

How did they cancel paypal? Was it an echeck payment? What was the domain, who was the buyer? Whats their email? DETAILS...

4n.net

"PayPal received a notification from a user regarding unauthorized access to his PayPal account"

Buyer's name: kenneth hardy
Buyer's email: [email protected]

Never never never use paypal with someone you don't know or don't trust.

EVER.

Sorry that has happened to you.

You are 100% right. Just looking for ideas. Won't make this mistake again.

And again...will some of us EVER learn? It's hard to feel sorry for guys losing domains to this scam when there are LOADS of threads where this is happened before, advising not to do transactions this way, and advising to use some form of ESCROW!

I do feel for you, but like my mom would say "it's your own damn fault."

i know a few guys that "take care of problems".

Seriously, this has always been a concern of mine. I know everybody says to use Escrow, and I usually do, but have done PP in the past too, and always had a little worry about chargebacks and such when I have accepted PP. No point in people saying "you should know better" now...I am sure thats the last thing you wanna hear. ICANN is probably your only choice. But I would say get it done FAST before the name is moved to another buyer that doesn't know the history.

Paypal is the lousiest company in the world.

Maybe send a pm to Adam.

So that guy is in Vietnam? His name isn't Kenneth Hardy. I'd call GoDaddy and see if they can do anything about it. Did your PayPal notification indicate he was in Vietnam? I didn't think they had PayPal payments there.

GD is not willing to help. Carzy thing is I am a long time customer who has spent thousands with them. One of their rep's even says to me "ya, looks like a fradulent account". But yet, not willing to help.

PP is looking into it, but I can just feel the screwing about to happen.

Probably the paypal account is legitimate but was hacked. So the owner of the account will be trying to have all charges reversed.

I doubt it if the buyer used a credit card. I'm not sure if there is even a way to tell if the buyer paid with a credit card.

Anyone know Adams email at Godaddy?

Ya, but the domain went to the same email address's as the PayPal account...?

I was scammed a domain PCLA.com exactly the same method.
I will never use PayPal again.
PM sent.

Paypal have a resolution centre for this sort of thing.

That's where the buyer disputed making the purchase in the first place, if you read what the OP wrote. A seller has NO rights in PayPal when selling intangible goods.
