Hi,

I have HorizonTravel.net and I have compiled a list of about 45 travel agencies that are called Horizon Travel or have Horizon Travel in their name.

I plan to send out letters to all the travel agencies and promote the sale of this name. I am hoping to get a minimum of $300-$500 out of it.

Is this a realistic price range? Should I open it up to offers?

Any strategy tips appreciated ! I'll give $50 DNF$ to the best tips and $25 to 2 runners up. Please don't take it personally if I don't choose yours. They may be great tips I just can only give out so much DNF$.

Thanks in advance for your comments, appraisals, and tips

Don't forget to email as well! All travel agents have email addresses. Send hard copy letters and emails.

Thanks White Lion. I appreciate the response. I'll send you 25 DNF for getting the ball rolling.

Any other appraisals, suggestions? Is my pricing on target?

Explain to them that you are going to put this name up for auction, but that since they have a similar name, you are offering them first dibs. Don't forget to use the words YOU, YOURS instead of WE or I when you write your sales letter. Explain to them the importance and impact of a clear, concise and representative domain name in terms of their marketing campaign. Show how this domain name is better than the one they currently own for their web presence in terms of name recognition and type-in, how it meshes perfectly with their current "traditional" marketing efforts, like radio and print ad.

And remember your ABCs: Always Be Closing :)

Right, make sure you give everyone a chance to answer your emails/letters, wait a little while and make sure to let the other travel agencies know about your offers, also, I wouldnt give them an asking price, chances are, you can get more by letting them give you offers, then you can tell them what the highest offer is that you have received so far :) good luck!

Thanks, that was very generous of you. I am happy I could help. Feel free to run your letter by me when it's ready if you want another opinion. It's a good domain name, and you have clearly identified your target audience with it. Best of luck and let us know how it goes and if we can help!
