How deep does a tradmark name go?

I need to know if I should keep, develop, sell, or drop the name.

WasteManagement - Is a TM long existing name.

My name can be used for many ides beyond solid waste - It could be based on the technologies of how waste is processed, the various forms of waste BIO hazard industrial mining etc. industry publications etc. New emerging technology, Global technology.
