Never had to deal with someone like this one.

He goes by the name of 'Alex' and he sends me email of domains who are similar to mine.....so if I have 'example.net', he will try to sell me 'example.com'

Not one, not twice, not even 5 times....this last one, he already sent me 8 identical messages using different domains, sometimes on Whois Privacy and everytime I email him back telling him to stop, the message bounces back like this one:

====================

Mail Delivery Subsystem to me
show details Jul 7 (5 days ago)
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

[email protected]

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 User unknown: [email protected] (state 14).

==================

He includes a link which I don't click on it and this is one of his standard messages (edited):

However I managed to find one of his addresses linked to this domain:

https://intrustdomains.net/

Before I ring whoever answers to that number in Colorado, if anyone has an advice...because I'm quite annoyed.

Cheers

If you are interested in the domain, try to register it at your favorite registrar. Most of the time the domains that they're offering are about to drop and will usually try to catch it and then charge you hundreds of dollars for it.

More than once, they even tried to sell me a domain that I already own.

You can also report the emails to the registrar &host for spamming.

This guy and a few others are doing this...sometimes its actually a pain but sometimes it's actually been helpful. If its a total pain block or report.

Me I just glance and dump.

I do agree when they start sending out 4-5 emails about the same name its getting annoying.

I have actually got a few good .com domains this way, when someone has emailed me about getting the .com of a .net or .ca I already own.

But these have only been occasional emails, not repeated ones.

The ones that bug me are when they are trying to sell me a .in or .cn of a .com I already own, why would I be interested? Sometimes I want to reply back that I'll buy it for $1.
