How do I find out where my uniques are coming from? I have a domain that recently became hot for no apparent reason. I guess it is ok to promulgate it. It is jet-charter.us. It was a normal domain getting about 10 to 20 uniques a month and occasionally getting a click through. Now it's getting over 50 uniques a day and averages about 10% to 20% click through rate. I am happy if any of my domains average 1.00 or 2.00 a day revenue as a rule. Jet-charter.us is soaring over 15 dollars a day recently. My parking company doesn't provide any info as to who or where the hits come from. I am not complaining, don't get me wrong. I am just wondering how in the heck and especially with the hyphen, is this happening? Is there a way I can discover where this mysterious business is coming from? Thank you to anyone that can help me. Hope it keeps up. Rep points sent to all that correspond.

Host the domain on a landing page and track the stats.

How do I do that bro? I guess I am not the brightest star in the sky sometimes. Do you mean change parking companies that will show who and where the traffic comes from? Well that sounds logical. Is there another way though? I would not want to piss off my present parking company as I think they are absolutely wonderful in all aspects. Dunno if I can state who they are. I am new in this neck of the woods and have not read the rules yet.

Throw up a html page on your server and track stats. If you use cpanel hosting it should have awstats to track stats, if not use google analytics.

Can you restate that in layman's terms? That went right over the top of my head. I understood nothing. Sorry I am such a beginner. I can look up those terms. Thanks for the help. Can a person do that on a parked domain though?

The parking company doesn't provide the traffic sources, so you have to host the domain on your own server to get more stats.

Host the domain on my own server. Is that like building a mini website? Again I apologize for my ineptness. I would like to develop but after a few years of study, I've concluded that I am just not of the ability to possibly develop on my own. Which leads me to another question. Does anyone know who or how to hire a person at reasonable rate to develop for me? I only have ideas but nothing concrete. I've been looking at that Whypark site over a year now. Does anyone know if that would be a good idea for a person that is not to good at htmls as I am?

I can do this for you. PM me.

Gee great thanks. PM sent.

I had a similar instance occur with one of my Spanish .net domains on SEDO. It was only averaging about one page view a month and I was considering dropping the name but for whatever reason decided to renew it. Then BOOM!!! in October and November it averaged over 300 monthly page views. In December it looks like it will only be around 100 page views but it is an employment-related domain and I figure fewer people are job hunting over the holidays. In either case, SEDO allows you to see where the traffic originates (in this case mostly Central America), page views and clicks by day and stats by keyword. On SEDO's sales page there is a domain analysis tool which I also checked. There are no incoming links either. Given that clickthrough rates on employment domains are much higher than other domains, I won't complain about the traffic.

I would suggest StatCounter instead of Analytics for this job. It's easier and better for seeing where exactly the traffic is coming from.

Park the domain with another provider. You might just end up getting a higher CPC.
