We see lots of expiring domains and I wonder how I can find out when a domain was very first registered.

I appreciate your suggestions.

Sometimes you can tell on archive.org but...there are services that you can see past whois history such as domaintools.com.

Thanks. But domaintools.com is expensive. May charge hundreds.

With a $15 /month Silver membership at Domaintools you get access to full WHOIS history. PM me the domain and I'll look it up for you.

Ok, Acro. Thanks

I confused with the domain ownership reverse lookup which can cost thousands.

I will have the membership.

Under WHOIS info, refer to "creation date". It stays the same even if the domain has changed hands.

Unless the name has dropped and was registered again, I think that's what James wanted to know.

It's only as good as it's interrogated. They build on their history by 3rd party requests. Nothing here is definitive.
