Hi all,

I was wondering where and how pool.com (hotlist), enom (club drop auction), snapcheck and other "pending delete domain list provders" look for the domain names which are pending delete etc. ?!
Is there some kind of "master server / service" where they pull the domain data from?! Or do they actually spider the web, store all the domains found into their database and then check which domains wil become available soon????!!! (hard to believe .. lol)

I want to make my own list of domains pending delete .. but I don't know where to get the data from?! Any ideas, any suggestions?!

I think they get that information from ICANN.

I guess Pool / SnapNames may have partnership with the domain registrars so they can pull data directly from their DB.

Two main ways:

1) The registries (Verisign/PIR/Afilias) also provide a downloadable file available to all registrars that contains the list of domains in pending-delete state.

2) The drop services have exclusive partnerships with some registrars (i.e. Snapnames with Register.com, Dotster, NetSol etc.) who provide them with their lists.

Unfortunately Zonefiles are not as acurate as the above mentioned lists, since they only contain names that actually have nameservers listed on them. And there some names without nameservers that you would not find in these lists.

anyone registering a domain should be e-mailed a monthly list from the Registrar's..........

There are several places where you can download the lists, however the list that the registries publish only go show domains in "pendingdelete" status, meaning they are 5 days (and less) before deletion.

You can also search some of the lists on PCnames.com and they will also come up in searches on DomainsBot.com.

Off the top of my head, here are some places where you can get lists:

http://www.snapnames.com/file_dl.sn?file=sntflist.zip (snapnames partner registrars)
http://www.snapnames.com/file_dl.sn?file=snpdlist.zip (registry pending delete)
https://ddirect.domainauctionservice.com/download/futureAuctions.csv (tucows future auctions)
http://www.clubdrop.com/auctions/clubdrop.asp (eNom & pending delete)
https://www.tdnam.com/trpRSS.aspx?ci=2913 (RSS feeds for GoDaddy/TDNAM)

Hope this helps,
/Frank
