It must be Pending Delete (scheduled for release) for the 5 days to start from the updated date.
RGP stands for Redemption Grace Period. The Redemption Grace Period is a thirty (30) day period that begins after a registrar requests that the registry delete a domain name.
If a name is in RGP, the Status field in the WHOIS will show the name as "Pending Delete - Restorable.
Following the deletion of a name by the sponsoring registrar, if this registrar does not request that the name be restored during the 30-day RGP, then the name enters a Redemption Hold Period, or RHP. RHP lasts for five (5) days, and during this time the name is locked. After five (5) days, the name will become available for re-registration.
If a name is in RHP, the Status field in the WHOIS will show the name as "Pending Delete - Scheduled for Release."
Once a domain reaches it's expiration date an extra year is sometimes added to the registration. As long as the name still shows Pending Delete - Restorable or Status:CLIENT HOLD, then you should add 35 days to the Last Updated On date and the other status shown, besides pending delete.
And if it shows Pending Delete - Scheduled for Release, then you just add 5 days to the Last Updated On Date. When a .org shows pending delete, the expiration date no longer is relevant, drop date soley depends on Last Updated on date.
In this instance:
WHOIS:
Created On:04-Mar-1999
Last Updated On:11-Apr-2004
Expiration Date:04-Mar-2005
Status:CLIENT HOLD
Status

ENDING DELETE
When is it suppose to drop?
Because of "Status:CLIENT HOLD" we add 35 days to "Last Updated On:11-Apr-2004" and the name should drop on May 16th 2004.
As usual this is only my interpretation of the rules, we all know that each registrar releases them when they feel like it.
