How does .mobi pre-reg work?

I "pre-regg'd" a .mobi . Am I guaranteed to get it? Or does it depend how fast the registrar I did it with is? I saw other people on the same registrar had pre-reg'd things like shopping.mobi, so ...

Also, I DIDN'T pre-reg mobileinternet.mobi ... good idea or a big miss?

It works like the .eu landrush but with fewer registrars.
The accredited registrars are listed on the official .mobi site: http://pc.mtld.mobi/switched/findaregistrar.html.
First come, first served basis on the 26th of september.
mobileinternet.mobi is not very good as you have twice the mobile idea.
To have better chances to secure .mobi names, you should pre-register them with several accredited registrars.

Nobody on earth will ever take the time to type mobileinternet into a mobile phone. I double checked with everyone on the planet before. If I were you then I would preregister a 4 charater or less domain before the kick off today.

they might not *want* to type long crap like that, but lets remember that in this day and age of "texting" back and forth, im not sure it would be that big of deal.. besides, once you type it out its in your history bar (assuming you have that option on)

some domains that have more than 10 letters, especially the really descriptive ones will be registered and used with this .mobi extention, even though they arnt pretty. i know im grabbing a few kinda-long-but-descriptive ones..

could be.. a lot of them right now will let you check the availablity and look like theyll let you reg but stop short.. resellerclub stopped at 8am central time, they were one of the cheapest @ $59.95 for 2yrs.. pool looks like $78/2yrs

16 minutes tho so bah.. might as well wait till they go live, have like 10 windows open checking on those generics from different registars..

while everybody has their opinion on this extention, its pretty likely that most of the really good names will sell for more than reg fee, beyond that, and how long the "craze" (if there is one) will last is anyones guess..

only if you have a trademark.. try to move forward registering dsfjkfkjdgjhgj.mobi on godaddy.. it requires trademark info
