How many redirects to register per active site?

I'm interested in how many additional domain names people register to re-direct traffic to their active site.

...And also, what kind of variations on the primary domain name do you register?

For example: If you owned the name "computersoftware.info"... What additional names (or extensions) would you feel it would be necessary to register (if any!) to avoid losing traffic?
