Hi all,

In Italy we've an alphabet of 21 letters and 5 vowels (A-E-I-O-U) while these letters are not part of our official alphabet: J-K-W-X-Y even if, obviously, we know about them.

I need to know what other letters are considered as "vowels" in English and in other languages too, thanks for helping.

In Turkish: A-E-I-İ-O-Ö-U-Ü (8 vowels). Let's see which language has more vowels than Turkish, lol :)

Thanks guys, you helped a lot.
I can also confirm that English and French have both the same vowels, this was very important for me to know and to confirm.

The English and French languages do not have the same vowels. Only the same characters that are (can be Y) used as vowels.

thats funny !

あいうえお (a i u e o) for Japanese words
アイウエオ (a i u e o) for Foreign words spelled in "katakana"
a i u e o for words from English-speaking countries using "romanji"

we also use "ヴい" for the letter V by using the vowel "U" in Japanese but is not considered a vowel.....

Modern Greek has 24 letters, of which 7 are vowels:

Α,Ε,Η,Ι,Ο,Υ,Ω

However, there are several diphthongs (vowel pairs):

Diphthong - Sound
ΑΙ = "Eh"
ΟΙ = "ee"
ΕΙ = "ee"
ΟΥ = "oo"
AY = "af/av"
EY = "ef/ev"
