Hi,

Say, I received a $300.00 offer for a domain that worth much more.
So I replied with $6,000.00, then, I receive a counter offer of $3,000.
Now, I insist that my name is really good, so to don't be rude, I lower slightly to $5,000.00. The counter part offers now $4,000.

How should this be ended ?

Frankly, this is my "biggest" operation at Sedo (second "biggest" was for $400.00) and I don't know if I'm handling it correct.

So, my questions are a bit general, first, is this offer and recounter offer game the common practice ? Could this take longer ?

Also, is this normal to receive such a low ball and then have an 10x fold increase in next offer ??

Yes, yes and yes it's normal.
I would counteroffer with $4500. But this is just me.

I recently had some timewasters up by $1 my counter-offer of tenfold amounts. I usually cancel immediately if the anonymous timewaster enjoys nickel and diming.

My example:
Offer $60
Counter: $8000
Offer $70
Cancel :)

Thanks, guys !

Now, I recall there was a thread about what was the fastest buy/sell operation you'd ever did and if I recall well, some told about experience when the big counter offer from the seller was welcome with a high acceptance from the buyer (like almost my case). But I can't find it now.

Sometimes I've sent low balls, too :), but I don't reply with a $10.00 increment if the seller price is too high for me, in that case I cancel it myself.

Regards,
