Hello,

The company Soccer Italia would like to place an advertisement on the homepage of my site, Buffon Online .

I have included a screenshot (rough but shows placement) of where they want it and its size.

The situation:

They responded to my emails to related sites asking if they would be interested in a banner ad on the forum..

I guess the forum wasnt good enough for them (kidding) as they wanted to be on the main page.

They asked what the YEARLY rate would be and dont want to do it monthly.

The site gets (*Checks Logs*):

For the month of aguast: 20-25 GB of bandwidth.

FOr the month of sept (2 days) it has recieved 2,624 unique IPs.

BTW, this is a international company, but I dont want to be discriminatory about my rates, just letting you know.

Thanks so much!

Hello Aguss,

Stated on the main page:

"NOTE: This site is in no way affiliated with Gianluigi Buffon himself or his official website."

Thanks guys for your ideas on pricing..

Dot, I did not lie about the stats, they can see the raw access logs should they wish..

The domain even gets TRUE value in inventory.overture.com

About the $200/mo..

Should I guve them a discount since htey want the yearly rate?

Say $200/mo [times] 10 (or 11) ?

Thanks ;)

We agreed on a pricing :)

Their head office is in Toronto (I am canadian) so we are dealing in CAN$.

We agreed on a nice price imo.

They didnt like the $200USD/mo idea, it was a bit more than they were looking for.

So they made a proposal and I upped it a bit and added a free mag subscribtion for me, and they agreed.

It will be close to $1200 USD for you Americans who dont know what a CAN $ is :D

Thanks guys!

I have a NEW question:

How is payment for advertising generally handled.

Wire? Escrow? Money Order?

2nd:
When is advertisment $ usually paid?
Prepaid? At the end of the month?

I know with OVT I pay them as they deliver, kind of. But this isnt a PPC rate..

Thanks!

I work in the online ad biz... from Toronto too... a highly targeted placment, with this ad unit, is worth a CPM of $8-$12 CDN.

Hope that helps :-)

Yes :-) CPM is cost per thousand. PM if you would like to discuss online advertising/your site in more depth.
