The ccTLD registar of my country is only controlled by one of the government agencies. Yes, monopoly...

Their services are slow and lousy but expensive. The question is - how to become another registrar for this ccTLD of this country?

What country?

Thanks for the info but I want to be a .my registrar, not a registrant.

I will make it another generic TLD. :D

Do You really think, that there is some need for another TLD?

Probably won't. Customers will have more choices (+ confusions). :D

The registry for a TLD sets the rules for that TLD.

.my is currently controlled by
MIMOS Berhad
Technology Park Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur
Wilayah Persekutuan 57000
Malaysia

These guys also own and operate the current registrar - mynic. You can become a reseller for mynic (though last I heard, applications were not being taken at the present time), however I don't believe there is any way you can become a registrar directly.

You could always petitition IANA for redelegation of the ccTLD to take over as registry...
