How to register a .edu?

I want to lauch an online courses website for a Business School.
Does anybody know the conditions to get a .edu?

I knew about Educause, but had forgot the name. But I thought it was only for colleges, not for what you want it for?

The thing is that I would like to ask the French business school that will buy the project to register a .edu (I think that they have a program in the USA, not sure it is enough to register a .edu)
Then I'll get a subdirectory with the online courses. The goal is to get higher ranking in search engines, which is, I think, a little easier with .edu domain names.

Maybe, *maybe* there is still a way by purchasing an old domain from somebody, before they implemented the new rules. Old domains are grandfathered and not subject to the same restrictive rules.
It's going to be difficult IMO.

David - some clarifications:

1). After 2001, only accredited schools in the US can register .EDU domains.
2). .EDU domains registered prior to 2001 are called 'grandfathered', because they're allowed to exist as is, without meeting any accreditation requirements / content guidelines.
2). EDU domains may not be directly bought or sold, only through the transfer of corporate ownership (an analogy would be buying Stanford University to get hold of stanford(.)edu)
