How do i know a name's owner before me?

I have seen someone post the whois info before him,and before that,and before.......
How can he do this?

...and alexa.com will sometimes tell you old ownership info. Look towards the bottom of the results:

"Contact Info for xxxxxxx.com:"

A couple of the guys here keep old whois info for valuable names. Try asking Whois-Search or PM me and I *might* be able to help..
