What are the current traffic stats? any rankings, revenue, google penalties?

There is zero traffic, as I was told the site got penalized by Google. The $5k offer on just the domain name is some SEO guy so I believe there is still value to EMD's.

even if the domain is penalized you are saying there is ZERO traffic? Is that possible? I mean aside from the fact that this is a high searched keyword, any site that is online..and I mean any site online gets at least some traffic every few days or so.

So you sure there's no traffic?

How about the content? is this all unique and included? Is it still relevant or would need to be updated?

I've attached Awstats for the current host it's on (Hostgator).

The site's been hosted on site5 for years. Last month I moved all my sites to Hostgator including howtostartablog.com, but didn't restore the site until 2 days ago. So the site wasn't "online" for about a month. Thus you can see the search string for "index of/"

I say zero traffic to mean zero usable search traffic. There is definitely a lot of indexing activity or whatever it is.

Content is unique (I wrote most of them, with a few that were written by my VA) and is still relevant, with the exception of the PDF report (see link at bottom of page), which was bought as PLR. I can also throw in PLRs I own related to blogging (written by Jimmy D Brown).

Will consider $xx,xxx offers or better. Anything lower just makes me want to hold on to it and develop on it. There is a lot of value to the 4k subscriber list (built over the years when it ranked "how to start a blog" in Google on first page).

Do you know why it got a penalty from Google? Did you buy black hat links, etc? And if so, have you tried to get those removed? I know it's a tedious process but could be worth the effort.

I don't think I did, in fact when it was ranked on 1st page I hardly did any backlinking at all. I think someone did negative SEO on the site.

Re; removing links, I don't do that nor do I know where to do that. I just know people do that cause I get tons of these requests for removal of links on my sites (although my sites are not even black or grey hat).

oh well, it happens, I try not to put much focus on SEO, it's just one way to get traffic. If you have a good sales funnel setup, you can just buy the traffic and make it work.

Well if you must ask, because for one, they can get it ranked in Google assuming it has no penalty on it
