If you like notepad try editpad, its similar but is better with bigger files, find & replace and lots more without getting in the way of what you need to do: edit text.
its probably one of the most powerful text editors out there but relys totally on keyboard shortcuts for functionality so takes a loooooooong time to pick it up.
I use it to write my websites directly on the web server or for making changes once i have ftp'd something...
i use an apple imac at home and i have heard a lot of good things about bbedit but i never really took to it... its a text editor with lots of bells and whistles... i still prefer the K.I.S.S method (Keep it simple stupid) myself though.
