Hi,

Coding html in notepad - how do I preview the site before it goes live so I can make adjustments.

Just save it as a .htm file on your desktop and open it in IE

Alternatively, you may save it as an htmL file and/or open it in Netscape. This is actually what most web designers do.

doesnt matter whether its saved as an htm or html file both the same

doesnt matter what browser you open it with either if you just want to see it

I always use Notepad, its the best

If you like notepad try editpad, its similar but is better with bigger files, find & replace and lots more without getting in the way of what you need to do: edit text.

The classic version (which I use) is free/"postcardware", and if you want to do more with it there is a Pro version for sale.

Its a *nix file editor... (unix/linux)

its probably one of the most powerful text editors out there but relys totally on keyboard shortcuts for functionality so takes a loooooooong time to pick it up.

I use it to write my websites directly on the web server or for making changes once i have ftp'd something...

Get "Macromedia HomeSite 5" for HTML. Its by far the best program out there in my opinion.

i use an apple imac at home and i have heard a lot of good things about bbedit but i never really took to it... its a text editor with lots of bells and whistles... i still prefer the K.I.S.S method (Keep it simple stupid) myself though.
