My own opinion is that there is no answer to your question only opinions
A domain is worth what someone is willing to pay, regardless of the extension

I know the domains r worth what someone is willing to pay.... :wink:
but anyways there is a difference based on the extension or at least it looks like, reading the posts here.
Thanks for answering, i will try to find some more infos elsewhere.

I'll give you a quick guide:

.com = 100
.net = 30
.org = 25
.info = 25
.us = 20
.biz = 15
.ca = 5
.ws = 3
.cc = 1

I can see this as being a disastrous thread.
I already disagree with the GT's valuation :-)

although there is no real answer, my take would be (very general)
com 100
net 35
info 40
org 38
biz 25
us 20
ws 3
cc 2
ca 1
etc...

of course, it depends on the type of domain.
the above can not apply for example:
forprofit.org is not better than forprofit.biz

nonprofit.biz is useless, while nonprofit.org is probably better than nonprofit.com
so there is noanswer, its it all depends...

seeker: my valuations are quite close to yours, no two people will have exactly the same opinion...

however I must take exception with one of your valuations - to say a name like sex.ca would be worth less than sex.cc is nearly unforgivable - Canada is a large market and I'm sure we have more sex (and more of everything for that matter) up here than in the Cocos Islands...

but either way, both Seeker and I are close to agreeing on the valuations of many TLDs and CCTLDs

GT, I was making a generalization and kind of joking, as I dont really think its possible to answer the question without getting specific with a name.

.ca has problems because of its very strict requirments, so for me, it isnt worth much, but for you much more.
and yes, it is worth more than cc on average, but cant switch hands easily outside of Canada.
Over all, I agree we see things very alike :-)

Are youg uys serious? You actually believe any extension is going to be worth more than 10% of .com, let alone up to 40%???

sure, depending on the NAME.
there are many factors involved, including if it is being sold reseller, which market, etc...

Do you think those .DE and info (in German) that made it in DNjournal would have sold for half as much if they were .com???
so here we have a case were .com might have actually sold lower.
too many factors.
