that if you ask either a non domainer or somebody who has a few domains they want ridiculous prices for pretty average domains,i always get much better deals from fellow domainers.......
definitely. most of those people are holding on to a few names they think will sell for tons where as domainers often have 1000's and know the chances are slim to none that the big sale is coming along.

Yes, there are people thinking that because somebody is interested in a name they own they hit the jackpot. Domainers often have more realistic expectations because they have a better understanding of the market.
I used to be exactly like that, and I don't mind admitting it. I'd buy a few crap names from eBay, I either tried to sell $x,xxx+ when reality is they were worth reg fees, or, if someone was interested in a domain, I'd expect such high prices that no one finished a deal!
Didn't take me too long to realise the reality... Now I'm focusing on acquisition of lll.net, short .coms and next stage is lll.coms - quantity.
How about educating non-domainers about what domains can be worth? Then maybe they will open their wallets. But essentially, it's all a matter of domain quality (however this is factored).
