Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a bit of my situation and hopefully get some advice.
For some time now, I’ve been working with an older gentleman, helping with site development and marketing. Recently, he decided that he wants to sell his portfolio of older domains and asked me to handle it.
I told him honestly that I don’t have experience in selling domains. His response was simple: “Go learn it.”
So here I am.
The portfolio consists of aged domains (around 25–30 years old), including a mix of brandable and niche-specific names. I’ve started listing on platforms like Afternic and doing some outreach, but I know I still have a lot to learn.
I’d really appreciate any guidance from experienced members here:
How would you approach selling aged domains like these?
What should I focus on first as a beginner?
Any common mistakes I should avoid?
If anyone is open to taking a quick look at a few names and giving honest feedback, that would mean a lot.

Hi Muqadas, welcome to DNForum!

With aged domains, the first thing I’d do is not rush to list everything at a price. Age can help, but age alone does not make a domain valuable.

A 25-year-old name with no clear buyer, no clean brand use, and no commercial intent may still be hard to sell.

On the other hand, one strong aged name in the right niche can be very attractive to an end user.
