Chances are that it will be renewed in the next 4/5 months before it drops

but you should check to see if it has a snap on it at http://www.snapnames.com. if not and it is that good a name then you might want to consider putting one on.

anything other than that is out of my scope of knowledge i'm afraid :(.

I would suggest that you not get too attached to that name (or any other name for that matter). The chances of you getting it, if it is as good as you claim, are not very good.

>daPrez: this domain name is very BIG / ive just secured it on snapnames

If it is really a BIG TIME domain name and there is the slightest chance of it being dropped, it would have already been picked up by someone else at SnapNames.

My question is: what makes you think that the current owner would let the name expire?

As a matter of fact, aol.com is expiring in less than a month (Nov 23 2002 at 7:02 AM, to be more precise).

LOL! You don't get it, do you?

Of course, they are NOT back-ordered. Why would anyone back-order any name that would not expire? That's why I mentioned aol.com or if you like netscape.com (expiring on Dec 14 2002 at 12:00 AM).

as i said in my last post

its only $69 after all

ok so it may not expire . but if it did for some strange reason then it would have been worth it

anyway its been regsitered for a 4 year period and its only just due to expire.
i know if i owned a domain that long i would forget to renew it or even have chanegd the email adress i registered it with

silly things like that do happen

expirey date does not mean that the domain will actualy expire, it's just the time for renewal. Most smart webmasters know it as a red letter day, almost as important as a birthday.

They do sometimes expire - but those are mostly domains, not site, but sites expire to. It's a bit confusing till you learn the basics.

Even if it expires, there are hoards of expiring domain hopefuls that will be trying to grab the name if it is "big". I've learnt that even small names that I thought no one would want, gets grabbed.

EVERY domain has a potential expiry date. The fact is the vast majority of the good ones get renewed.

You money would be better spent over at some place like http://clickmojo.com with his expiry lists and find yourself something good currently expiring.

If you're running a business put your money where it generates revenue. Not on some longterm "maybe"

Didn't hotmail.com drop and someone grab it. I never heard how much BG paid to get it back, or how he did it.
