ICANN Announce that from 1st,Nov, 2004, it will collect $0.25 per domain name/yr from the registrar, any one has the comment about it?

SOI Stinks on ice.

Greedy idgits out of control. These guys have taken an awarded contract from the DoC and turned it into a power play with goals of making it into their own private money making scheme once the contract ends. I woudn't mind the fee if it wasn't excessive, and if they did anything to earn it. They pass out accredations just to get the cash, don't care about the damage to the industry and do absolutely nothing to protect the most important part --- us! Crooks running the biggest show on earth.

Ditto. ICANN is a good example of "mission creep". 90% of their employees and board probably don't even own a domain name.

Stargate already collects that fee for new registrations - however it doesn't seem to affect bulk accounts so far.
