I decided to jump on the IDN "craze" to a certain extent.

Please appraise the following names for me:

Like most IDN's I suppose its difficult to appraise them now, but they are definately keepers. Maybe Mr Wrixon would like to appraise?

I take it the above are all places in Brazil with the exception of Quetta.

I was a bit confused about this one as I have only ever heard of the Athenian Port:

Pleased to see an Urdu domain appearing, but I am sure if you search more thoroughly there are some bigger cities and more signficant keywords to go for than this.

This site provides population data, demographics, etc. - it's what I use to look up the cities.

As for Quetta - I do quite a bit of business in Pakistan, and it's a tourist city for foreigners (such as myself), which is why I decided to register it.

I like xn--mgbuh5f1m.com (پشاور.com) (Quetta in Urdu) because there is no mistaking future type-in value, but as Dave said it depends on population.

I try to stick to non-ASCII domains because I'm afraid that typing piraievs.com would be as easy as typing piraiévs.com.
