Okay -s so let's think .info - what do most people think that extension stands for?
Right, "information" - great we're on the same wavelength. Now look at some of the domains you've listed .... lopsided, unsure, unrestraint! ... now do you see through my thoughts?

Exactly!

Now which of your domains will be providing information about the subject words that people will be looking for?

No neither do I, sorry.

Value? - well you paid reg. fee. so I guess they have to be worth that ( or maybe they were freebies!) but anything above that is purely down to what you make of them now you've got them.

So why would the .com versions of those names be more valuable? - Good question! The truth is that the .com version of such words are more sought after by resellers and so they would generate more value.

.info domains have to be much much better than average to be of value to resellers or end users.

.Info do hold value. Just because of the free promo's mean nothing. If you hold a valuable .info, you'll know about it.

so does that mean that any of them could be worth anything in a few years down the road?

On another forum somebody sayd rivalry.info and dictatorship.info might do good if I hold on to them..

I think .info is ok, but only if the name can be used to provide information.

Take "freeing.info. What information could you put on that?. I can't think of anything.

freeing.info could be a site where somebody would post government documents that just got released or it could be used for insiders to post secrets about agencys/buisness or what not...

IMHO there's nothing wrong with .info. I think they are a good investment for the future. There are many threads here that expound the virtues, and we know of serious money changing hands for the RIGHT .infos. Mr Webname spells out for me the criteria. If you're going to spend any money on them, make them meaningful and contextual.

'regrettable.info' as an example, really just has zero value -- more than that, it's a liability to pay the yearly rent for it.

That's what I like about this forum. People are usually honest when they appraise. I remember the old afternic when all people did was build-up each others' egos with outrageous appraisals.

I agree with others that these don't have much value. Dictatorship.info may someday have value someday - similar to one of my domains democracy.org.cn - both could eventually have some value to people documenting human rights of various countries.

(I'm not holding my breath on that one either.)
