Update:

Just recieved C and D letter from Time Warner.

Funny it's dated 6 days after I turned down his offer.

The lawyer says its not him that sent the initial request to buy it.

What do you think?

I wouldnt let it go for less than $8k Very developable and prifitable name for an end user which i am guessing who is contacting you.

let someone offer me 5k for a domain and watch how fast i take it. LOL

would clear up almost all of my debt

The whole point here is that end users do not necessarily look at the domain market in the way that we do. They do not often understand value, but they will have a perceived need that they wish to fill.

Branding, even bad branding has a momentum of its own. Once they have launched in a certain direction, even illadvisedly they are often obliged to follow the stratey through to its logical conclusion. Even if this means paying over the odds for a mediocre name!

Fantastic description and very, very true.
