I recently read on Yahoo's development blog about how web 3.0 is primarily supposed to deal with Integration Technology. You can already see this happening with some of the major social networks.

No problem. It's the process of getting applications to speak to each other, or work cohesively together. An example of this is the way that Firefox integrates it's extensions (which are basically little applications) into it's browser. They basically work together for convenience.
