Analysis: 9% of Top 500 Websites Registered with Godaddy
46 websites in the top 500, as per Alexa, are registered with GoDaddy, 111 with MarkMonitor, 45 with Network Solutions, and 25 with eNom.
Interestingly, a majority of adult websites are registered with EuroDNS. Most illegal filesharing websites are either hiding behind a proxy, or registered with EuroDNS.
I was expecting GoDaddy's share in the top 500 to be higher. But then, the top 500 is filled with non-English websites which may have skewed the results somewhat.
