Heya guys! Here's a tricky one for ya:

iPhones.no

Before you say ".no is worthless!" etc. Please consider that Norway is one of the richest countries in the world and has also one of the most active electronics/gadget consumer market in the world. Cell phones are _big_ industry in Norway! This domain gets a few typein's daily now, but I expect it to blow when the iPhone is released in Norway. It could also be used as iPhones.no(w) 'iPhones Now!' or similar.

I've had this domain for a little while and I haven't had any TM issues yet. I don't think I ever will either, since it's not a .COM/.NET/.any intl. ext.

Your professional thoughts on this domain is highly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Hi there DNP! Thanks for the welcoming and thanks for liking my domain! :) Well, to get a .NO domain you need to register it to your business. That means you need to have your own company/organization, or authorization to put it on a company/organization. Although this might sound complicated, it really is pretty simple. If you don't have authorization or own a company, then you can just register a "single person company", non-profit or profit for free. These registrations are easily performed online via www.brreg.no . :) So next time you hear that .no's are hard to register, kill that rumour please. :)

Ok, back to the domain. I parked it at Sedo 17th of January 2007 and I've had 11 uniques since then, with a 9.09% CTR. I didn't expect any traffic on this domain yet, as the iPhone isn't released in Europe/worldwide yet and it's a bit early for people to start looking for it online.

I do have a few plans for this domain though. My main business is computer support, but I'm also selling a bit of computer hardware/software to my customers. So if I can't find a reseller/enduser who can offer me a decent price for it, it would be fun to put up a cellphone webshop on it, with the main attraction - cheap iPhones! :) Eventually, (free) iPhone software, wallpapers etc. would also be ideal for this domain imo.

I haven't decided what to do with it yet though, I just think the name is nice and as I'm norwegian myself; I feel this domain has a lot of opportunities.

More thoughts/appraisals welcomed! :D

Hm, it doesn't seem to me that www.brreg.no offers registration of whatever company for free...

Oh, what an old thread... Anyways, www.brreg.no is a norwegian register for norwegians to register their norwegian company. You can't register anything there if you aren't norwegian I'm afraid.

"iPhones? No. But we've got something better!" .. Would be a nice site for selling Windows Mobile devices (which imo kills the iPhone) .. Anyways .. I still have this site, I was thinking of developing it somehow but I've never gotten to it .. Maybe one day I'll find a norwegian who wants it hehe ...

BTW, I have had this domain for almost a year now and I haven't heard a squeak from Apple or anyone else about TM issues etc..

From the way you have written your previous posts above it seems that everybody could use brreg.no to register a company (also your answer has been addressed to DNP who is not a Norwegian).

Apart from that you could claim that your name is "IP hones" and has nothing to do with apple ;)
