Hello,
I received an email about the domain IraqRentals.com requesting a price.
According to the email there is interest in Iraq related domains relating to the internet, whatever that means. The company says they would be interested in purchasing the domain but no idea how to value this one. May be inclined to hold onto it for a few years.

Any opinion much appreciated,

Hal

Well I'll open my radars if they wanted an appraisal , there is an appraisal scam.
The domain is nice but the situation in Iraq is not nice, I can not think of a maniac going to rent a realestate in Iraq outside the Green Zone.
It will be long term investment.

I received the same type email regarding my domain name, IraqSouvenirs.com. I offered both IraqSouvenirs.com and IraqiSouvenirs.com for $300 each if they would take them both. I expect to receive a response asking me to have them appraised....we'll see what happens.

Thanks for the responses so far. The possible buyer did not ask for an appraisal, just a price. Is it a good strategy to quote something maybe 50% in excess of what I would be happy to sell for and negotiate from there?

Ah I see, got it. Will proceed with caution and see what happens.

Thanks all.

Scammers usually ask for a price first, and as soon as they have received your response, they will ask for an appraisal.
