I looked through other posts but couldn't find anything on this.

If someone looks up the whois information of a domain name and a thumbnail of the page is presented on the whois info page, is the whois look-up recorded as an actual visit to the web site? I would imagine a whois-look up without a thumbnail view wouldn't be recorded as a visit to the page, but one with a thumbnail view might be recorded because a snapshot picture is taken.

Thanks in advance

You mean the visit is recorded because a snapshot of that site is being taken [by a bot]?
Then yes. Basically the snapshot bot is "visiting" the site to obtain a screenshot.

But this is not always the case, because the thumbnail might be cached.
So the second time you lookup the WHOIS, no visit is recorded.

most snaps are cached so you would not get a visit but the who is site would

Fabulous.com is giving stats on whois lookups ;)
If your domains are regged at Fabulous, they will tell you how often the whois info is requested.
