is .biz a good investment?

So what do you think, is it worthwhile buying quality 3 letters, or one word .biz's, will they go up?

personally i don't like biz & they are hard to shift, i see dictionary words all the time unregged as none wants them#

for the very best words though there will always be a market
think prices can only go up a bit as low

Develop your .biz domains and start generating some traffic. You might have to work harder to increase the value of your .biz domains but I think in the long run, quality .biz domains will appreciate in the way .info has so far.

However, I think the SLD really needs to match the TLD for the domain to really pique potential buyers' interest. I just picked up Photography.biz with plans to develop it, and in my opinion that particular SLD is a nice fit with .biz.

And yes, I think LLL.biz domains are worth getting if you can get them cheaply enough. As prices of LLL.com skyrocket past the point of many people's budgets, buyers will begin looking for less expensive alternatives.

as an investment, if you are looking outside .com and .net, I'd prefer .info or your country code extension over .biz. I think .mobi and .tv have more potential than .biz too, but they are more expensive to reg.

As long as the domain market stays strong, .biz should hold or climb with it. A rising tide lifts all boats, after all.

dotBIZ is a very good extension for high interest keywords/phrases. I can't speak to LLL specifically. The market/internet is expanding such that companies and individuals are learning other approved extensions exist outside of .com and .net. If looking to quick flip BIZ to resellers, naturally prices will be low unless you have a great domain.

As an investment I think .biz should be avoided at all costs.
However LLL names in major extensions (including .biz) look safe in the long term to me.
Decent LLL .biz combos still can be had for $$ which IMO is undervalued. I imagine they will increase in value but not at the same rate as .com. If you are looking to secure LLL .biz domains I think now is the time.
Be prepared to hold them for years. If you have a 'good' acronym and find the right end user who doesn't mind the TLD you could make a nice profit provided you are patient.
Keep in mind that domains are not a very liquid form of investment, especially 'contender' TLDs.
When you have a LLL .com you can sell it fast and easily over here - at least at reseller price.

I got offered £3,000 for market.biz, pushed for a little more and lost the deal. Market.biz is probably one of the best keyword .biz names there is imo (not biased at all ). As with most extensions, strong keywords that fit the extension have a value.

lll.net's and lll.org's seem quite a safe investment though aren't they?

Ok guys, I have been in this gig now for more than 8 years even though I took some sabaticals inbetween. Here is my opinnion. Years ago we used to shy away from .net, It was .com or nothing. I have a few 8 year old .nets and they are almost always the highest crosser on PPC for me now. That said, I have a few .biz and not even one word .biz but market targetted ones. This is because if developed, it can revival any TLD because all it takes is content. I have two sites that rank #1 in google for their keywords now so I have learnt a few things over the years. Like someone pointed out, you might need to work a little harder to move a .biz but never pass a very good .biz I will rather own a .biz over a .TV or .cc. When it comes to ccTLD, the only one I respect is .co.Uk because the brits have a lot of pride in this TLD and it is really very popular. .US in the right application is not bad either. Please note that I am not a seer, this are just another opinnion.
