We have all heard a lot of marketing and talk being done by these guys..but do they walk the walk...

I always used Godaddy.
Good prices.
I have more than 500 domains with them.

But is too slow and I'm tired to wait 15 minutes to change DNS.

Moniker the best!

Carter has it right on. Great prices, especially if you find some good discount codes (I pay $6.99 + the $0.20 ICANN needs a new Ferrari fee). You can find plenty of them in the GoDaddy subforum.

I just hate the fact that they open a new window every time you click on something and they can be extremely slow if you have any kind of connection that is less than a T3.

But - I would also recommend Moniker if you have high value / high risk domains. Their security is the best and it takes a little more than someone writing a letter for them to disable your domains.

Many people have never tried anything else.
It's like the people who are still using internet explorer - they know it's inferior software but they are stuck with their old habits :)

I like the GoDaddy because I can register .info domains cheaply there.
And GoDaddy Gift Card is a cheese.
For change of the NS I need 2 minutes.

GoDaddy isnt only over rated they are over bloated... they seem to spend a good amount on advertising where as most other registrars dont or at least I havnt seen much from them.

I have most of my names at godaddy. I am happy with them. They are a little quick to drop your name if you wait to renew...but now a days...so is everyone.

So I would say they are not over rated...just get an account manager.

Have got quite a few friends connected with GoDaddy and the only thing they love about the company are the GoDaddy Girls..they have also been exasperated with the kind of customer service displayed and according to their stories its not a benefit to receive such discounts if the end result is such..

I too would consider registrars like Moniker if you are ready to spend a little and receive the best of service..subtle with the marketing and peace of mind..

GoDaddy seem to be extremly slow, when accessing from China. Also the total webhosting nonsene they oofer when you simply try to register a domain, get's on my nerves.
Also if someone complains about your whois information, Godaddy charges you $20 or something like this, for reminding you to update/fix the whois information.
